otherkin person: “The anti-otherkin things people say and do to me sound and feel exactly like the abusive things people have said and done to me that weren’t otherkin-related.”
anti-otherkin: “HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT NOT BELIEVING YOU’RE A MAGICAL TALKING ANIMAL IS ABUSIVE?!?!?! THAT’S OFFENSIVE TO ACTUAL ABUSE SURVIVORS!!”
i… are you fucking kidding me? really? really?
it’s like anti-otherkin folks are not even trying to get us to take them seriously?
TW: Otherkin h8, denial, erasure, etc.
omg otherkin wtf
aka straight cis white middle class christian/atheist/agnostic otherwise neurotypical people who want something to say that they are oppressed
Except I’m a pansexual nonbinary person who suffers from some pretty bad anxiety who never claimed to be oppressed for being nonhuman.
Have a nice day!
I don’t know any otherkin who are all of the things the OP said at the same time.
The closest nonhuman to that that I know of is Mordred and, well, he’s polysexual and not really very neurotypical (most of the folks in our system aren’t) and class designation doesn’t really apply to him.

[TW: Denial, angry swearing, otherkin h8]
And dear lord I raged at it.
No seriously, you guys are human.
I mean, genetically, physically and psychologically you are human. Yes, humans are animals. But that is as far as you being an animal extends.
Stop trying to attach yourself onto the list of seemingly protected groups that the (also largely bullshit) Tumblr social justice community defends.
People with disabilities, people that aren’t heterosexual, or people that don’t fit the gender assigned to them, those are all groups of people that are rightly defended when someone gives them shit.
So really, to see you guys try and jump on that bandwagon is pretty offensive.
I mean, I won’t tell you that you can’t believe in whatever crazy shit you want to believe in, but don’t expect me to recognise let alone accept it.
And let the hate roll in.
I HAD NOT REALIZE MY BODY WAS HUMAN
and btw thank you for erasing disabled ‘kin, nonbinary/trans* ‘kin, non-hetero ‘kin, and ‘kin of color.
How ‘bout you fuck off now?
Also laughing my fucking ass off at the idea that the Tumblr social justice community defends otherkin. (in a what-the-fuck-that’s-so-wrong-it’s-silly way)
hahahahano. They’re actually some of the biggest assholes about it! (Because, you know, if you don’t respect somebody’s identity, or if you don’t believe that one particular identity of theirs is an oppressed one, it’s totally okay to bully the fuck out of them, as long as you stand up for other groups, which they may also be a part of but they’re otherkin so fuck them right? #notserious [I don’t think sarcasm is the right word here, more like mocking derision])
and just, this idea that beings are claiming a nonhuman identity to “jump on [some] bandwagon”? Like as though most of them don’t begin their posts talking about their nonhumanness with, “I’ve always felt different” and talking about their childhoods? Yes, I’m sure as little kids these beings decided they were going to feel nonhuman so that one day they might hope to be bullied and abused and not taken seriously on Tumblr. I’m sure. #sarcasm
